Our Team
The people behind Chichester Women's History Group.
CWHG is run by a small (but mighty) group of trustees and supported by a remarkable network of patrons, partners and volunteers — all working together to put women back into Chichester's history.

Patrons
We are honoured to be supported by patrons whose work and lives reflect the values at the heart of CWHG — championing women's voices, scholarship, public service and the arts.
Kate Mosse CBE FRSL — bestselling author and co-founder of the Women's Prize for Fiction
Jess Brown-Fuller MP — Member of Parliament for Chichester
Dame Philippa Russell — leading advocate for disabled children and family carers, former Director of the Council for Disabled Children and Chair of the UK Government's Standing Commission on Carers
Diana Symes
Dr Anita White CBE — former England hockey captain and 1975 World Cup winner; co-founder of Women in Sport and long-standing champion of women in sport, with a long association with the University of Chichester
Dr Gill Clarke MBE — writer, curator and former academic who has published widely on twentieth century British art. Her books include Evelyn Dunbar: War and Country and Conflicting Views: Pacifist Artists, and she has curated exhibitions at galleries including Pallant House Gallery, Chichester. Gill is one of our speakers in 2027.
Anne Scicluna — thrice mayor in the city of Chichester, with a genuine passion for our local city's history, art and the community. She is a serving Liberal Democrat councillor for Central Ward.
Prof. Pamela Howard OBE — Director and Scenographer working primarily in opera and contemporary music theatre. Her practice encompasses large and small scale productions, in major opera houses and unloved and forgotten spaces.
Dr Linda Shaw OBE
Dr Caroline Adams — historian and archivist, providing research services for family and local history projects; with a particular focus on Sussex.
Our lead artist
Kate Viner — artist and sculptor, leading the Madge Turner Flag Project and creating the maquette and proposed bronze statue of Madge Turner.
